This exhibit features exclusive video interviews with iconic entertainers, hands-on activities, photographs, and other artifacts covering eight controversial topics: Civil Rights, LGBT+ Issues, Feminism, War & Peace, Censorship, Political Campaigns, Political Causes, and International Politics.ĭisplayed artifacts include Original Village People stage costumes, handwritten lyrics from Chuck Berry’s "School Day," and Neil Young’s “Ohio.” More than 50 artists and political figures are featured in the exhibit, including Beyoncé, Eric Clapton, Bill Clinton, Lady Gaga, Jimi Hendrix, Madonna, John Lennon, Bono, Gloria Estefan, Gregg Allman, Jimmy Carter, and more.Ĭurators from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Newseum worked with veteran music journalist, author, and television producer Bill Flanagan (VH1 Storytellers, CMT Crossroads, CBS News Sunday Morning) to create this unique exhibition.Ībout the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame: Rock Connects Us. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, and the Newseum in Washington, D.C., partnered on the one-of-kind exhibit, which premiered in May 2016 at the Rock Hall.
